About Elwyn
Architectural designer with a passion for capturing the built environment through hand-drawn sketches and detailed architectural studies.
Currently pursuing a Master of Architecture Advanced + IPAL program at University of Florida while working as an architectural designer at Baker Barrios Architects, specializing in healthcare and entertainment design.
My artwork focuses on the intersection of architecture and urban life - from quick field sketches that capture the essence of a street corner to detailed drawings that explore the intricate relationships between space, light, and form.
Each piece begins on location, whether it's a heritage building facade, a bustling city intersection, or an intimate interior space. Working primarily in pen and ink, I aim to document not just what buildings look like, but how they feel and function within their urban context.
My Process
Field Work
I begin every piece on location, spending time observing how light, shadow, and human activity interact with architectural forms.
Initial Sketch
Quick gesture drawings capture the essential character and proportions, focusing on what makes each space unique.
Detailed Study
Back in the studio, I develop selected sketches into more detailed drawings, refining line quality and spatial relationships.
